In 2009, The L.A. Tennis Open will feature a 28-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles competition. In its 83rd year, the landmark Southern California ATP tournament is the longest running annual professional sporting event in Los Angeles, and offers total player compensation in excess of $1 million. Proceeds from the L.A. Tennis Open, held in conjunction with UCLA, benefit the grassroots programs of the non-profit Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA) and UCLA. The SCTA offers programs, leagues, and tournaments involving 300,000 juniors and 50,000 adults and seniors.

The center opened May 20, 1984, and hosted the demonstration tennis event of the 1984 Summer Olympics. The UCLA Bruins tennis teams moved to the facility in 1985 (men) and 1997 (women). The center currently hosts the L.A. Tennis Open, an ATP Tour event. The main grandstand surrounds three courts, and has a capacity of 5,800 spectators. There are eight lighted, hard-surface courts at the center, which can hold 10,000 spectators.

Day 1: Departure to Los Angeles

Begin your day with breakfast at the Farmers Market. Shop along Rodeo Drive and watch out for the stars of today. After lunch take walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame and find your favorite “Star.” Also visit the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. In the evening enjoy all the excitement in West Hollywood.

Day 5: Getty Center and Santa Monica
Enjoy the morning at the Getty Center. Extensive collection of antiquities, paintings, drawings, sculpture, 19th- and 20th-century American and European photographs. The afternoon spend shopping in Santa Monica. Visit the Santa Monica Pier or simply stroll around 3rd Street Promenade.
